Shure SM7B Settings -- Mackie DLZ Creator XS

There are a lot of mixers out there with a variety of use cases and the Mackie DLZ Creator is an interesting solution that fits a number of workflows. It’s also a very powerful device. For me, my use case is a lot of work Zoom calls, a ton of gaming and a little bit of streaming. But…before you can do any of the above, you need to set up your mic. As with many of you out there, I use the Shure SM7B dynamic mic and it’s been my daily work horse for years. Setting-up the Shure SM7B takes a fair bit of trial-and-error and in this video, I review how I set it up my Shure SM7B on my Mackie DLZ Creator XS.

Thank you for this awesome video. I just started using my DLZ Creator XS tonight. Your settings are solid even with my condenser mic (Lewitt LCT 240 Pro). Now I just need to see how to mimic the sound produced by my Lewitt Connect 6. Audio quality on both the devices is awesome but...the Lewitt somehow managed to really cancel out a lot of the background noise from my room (i.e. air handler, fan, foot movement and chair squeaks). Keep up the good work and thank you again for this info. Any knowledge you can share with me would be very helpful!

Is this XLR only, or can I use my steelseries mic with it?

So straight out of the box there is an issue on easy mode where my voice drops in and out.Found out in pro mode when I adjust the threshold and gain in the Gate setting the issue goes away I updated the firmware too I used your settings for Gate and issue still there I have to set it to -25db on the threshold and -9db on the gain and voice issue goes away.Either way straight out of the box it’s noticeable so easy mode and enhanced seems to have the threshold issue only in pro mode can it be fixed and no one have mentioned this.
