I think the only way to do this effectively is to genuinely feel that you deserve better. If you come from a space of anxiety and trying to get it to work, it won’t. You have to be done with feeling you have to earn his attention and let him earn yours

Going through this now. I'm not playing emotional tug of war or any games I genuinely just got fed up with doing everything to drive the relationship to keep it on track while he reap the benefits. I did 90% of everything for almost a year. I tried communicating my needs and trying to communicate with him how things were making me feel and he really didn't do much to alleviate my concerns so I just stopped trying all together, I don't question anything, I became indifferent and stoic.

I love him but am not in love with him. He destroyed our marriage of 17 years by treating me like his housekeeper, secretary, and sex goddess. I left him for 1 year.
