PC specialist are actually a system builder that was all online with custom built PCs but then they started doing a few pre builts that are only sold in currys. So you managed to get probably one of the best systems you could from currys. Also if you don't want to try and squeeze the PC into you carry on luggage you can always send it to me I need an upgrade lol :)

PC Specialist have their own website, you can spec your own builds, including for laptops, and are actually reasonably decent. I think currys made a tie-in with them, which is honestly not terrible for anyone involved compared to the normal stuff they stock.

I'm overly impressed with that cable management, it looks so damn clean and puts other pc sellers to shame!

Honestly I've never had an issue with Currys PC World, but I think that's because I know more than the bare minimum required to not get ripped off. That's essential if you're looking to buy or build computers

PCSpecialist are a well known system builder in the UK, I've had a few PCs off them in the past and they do offer options to select all your components. That price for that kit seems decent, but I wonder if you could just have specced out the same with a better case for similar...

PC specialist are a very good and reputable company here in the UK, I didn't know that they done pre build's for currys. My grandad has always bought his laptops from PC specialist as he can customise them to his needs and they have great customer service as well as leaving headroom for what upgrades you can actually do with a laptop.

You probably got the best PC pre-built you could have gotten. PC specialist is an amazing company here in the UK and its where I've gotten both of my PC's from since I upgraded from my laptop days. For how much information they give you to setup and just how well they build these systems it is definitely worth having a look at these guys, I do admit it may be a little bit on the expensive end for getting yourself a completely custom built (which is what I got) vs the prebuilts they send off the shelf but I ultimately think it is well worth the money.

Seeing CEX, Currys and PC Specialist in a Dawid video isn't something I'd ever thought I'd see 😂 PC Specialist are brilliant though, even though I prefer to custom build my own PCs, I always send people who are unsure how to put together a PC but have an idea on what they want to PC Specialist

You managed to find a staff member in a Currys?! That usually requires thousands of hours of questing around a shop, avoiding the level 10 Karens complaining about something, and defeating the "give 0 shits" attitude of the few staff members you can find.

PC Specialist are a very reputable builder in the UK, just because Curry's PC world sucks doesn't mean they do.

As others have said, PC Specialist are a well known & respected system builder in the UK. Had my first PC from them 8 years ago and its still going strong in my brother's room now that I've recently upgraded to the latest and greatest, again from PCS. I'd have zero hesitation recommending them to anyone, but of course buy their pre-config systems rather than customising unless you know what you're looking at. Worth noting the bullguard bloatware seen in the video is optional when purchasing!

So... I actually worked at Curry's and was quite surprised when the start of the video had the PC that I used to recommend fairly often (the better air flow version of the one you bought), which I recommended almost always over other brands due to it's better upgrade paths.

The problem with Currys isn't necessarily all of the systems that were sold, it's the fact that barely any of the store colleagues knew what they were talking about when recommending one, which is a massive problem when someone who's buying a prebuilt usually doesn't understand PCs.

I was unfortunately the only sales person in the (fairly large) store who really knew anything in depth about computers, laptops, cameras and a few other things we sold, putting a lot of pressure on me to help my colleagues CONSTANTLY!

It just goes to show they didn't really care about the service quality, only the fact that we sold extended warranty... It was terrible, against my conscience and a major reason as to why I left that job.

My experience of PC Specialist systems (bought second hand) have always been pretty positive. They do tend to cheap out on some parts, but they're always well put together with a million zip ties. Definitely one of the better pre-built companies.

You didn't get anything they had in the shop, and you got a pc from one of our best. The Matrix looks on in envy of your bullet dodging skills.

It's not the best price but decent for all new hardware. :)
With that said, Curry's likes to con younger kids and young adults who aren't tech savvy;
For example, they would sell an i5 CPU laptop with no additional graphics for £500. Lots of kids end up with these things thinking they could play modern games but can't.

I'm actually impressed they covered the motherboard video outputs to stop people using them by mistake, good job.

I almost bought a PC from Curry's years ago, it was missing a DVD drive, so I thought I'd buy one seperate and install it myself.

Only for them to tell me if I opened the PC it was invalidate my warranty!!!

They also harass you to high hell in store to take out extended warranties. I hate buying ANYTHING from there for that reason. I just want to buy something and leave like a normal shop.
