Use two straws to create a fine mist water spray | Pressure | Physics

A high speed flow can create a low pressure zone that sucks up a liquid. This is demonstrated in this video, where the air blowing across the open end of a straw immersed in water creates a low pressure zone, causing the liquid to push itself up through the straw. When this liquid meets the blast of air, it breaks up into a fine spray.

The way he looks away at the end, like he just got interrupted haha

Awesome demo though! Using this for my physics class.

Woah! I never knew you can make mist out of air pressure.
I just wanted to figure out how some machines can create mist without boiling water, And here's how they do it.
Neat-O!

similar process of a venturi in a carburettor or a fuel vapourizer.

thanks, was looking for something like this, i cant afford a turbo pump, want to try this idea for making a rocket engine, perhaps i could use this to introduce both kerosene and oxygen to the engine
