Just wanted you to know. I’ve been asking my boyfriend for nearly 2 weeks to cut 2 pieces out for me that I bought for a project, I literally just needed 2 boards cut in half. He acted like it was the worst burden in the world, so finally I gave up. I’ve never done a project or anything diy before so it was intimidating. I read some how to’s and watched your videos, and today I successfully cut my boards without harming myself or anything else. Thank you for these. I still feel very accomplished. :)

You are a GREAT teacher. I'm a 64-year old woman who just bought a 150+ year old house and I'm getting acquainted with power tools. I had some prior experience building sailboats in my 20s, but that was a long time ago. Your lessons are clear, succinct, and thorough. I'm getting my confidence back and working safely. Thank you!

Excellent explanation for a super beginner, I bought a saw for a small project and then immediately found myself stumbling over the most basic details having 0 experience with power tools of any kind. feeling way more confident now!

The graphics, camera angles and zooms that accompany your great instruction are fantastic. I have only watched 2 videos of yours so far and these are already the best "how to" videos I have ever seen. So glad I found you. Will be buying my first circular saw this week!

I've been watching lots of DIY/carpentry videos lately and this is the first time I've seen the magnified, picture-in-picture thing you're doing. Very, very helpful.

I'm on a project of building a 4 step deck stairs and i am an absolute beginner. I already replaced toilet bowls, door locks etc. just by watching DYI youtube vid. I am thinking of buying a circular saw for my current and future projects. Thanks a lot for the tutorial. I got the dimensions i need and will soon begin on my work.

Fantastic! Most "primers" seem to assume that I already know how t use a circ saw. You o9ffered both the basics of the doodads on the saw, AND how to do the two things that I bought it for -- slicing up 2x4s and trimming 8x4 luan sheets from 96" to 73." Well done, many thanks.

You’ve got to be an industrial arts teacher! Or you’re just excellent at teaching all points of an application, And pausing at appropriate times where students can absorb the information. Awesome!

Hey there! I don't know if anyone has already commented anything about this but I'll go ahead and go on with it. Sometimes the lower guard will become stuck or jam up on you after you're done with a cut, after every cut make sure the lower guard goes back to it's natural position. The saw blade will keep running for a few seconds after you release the trigger so just be aware and safe about that. And make sure you're cord does not get in your way or you'll end up ripping it in half.

Very helpful! I used to run a circ saw years ago on side jobs. But bought one the other day and this is an awesome refresher! Thanks

Thank you. I followed my father around because I wanted to be like him. He was a Union master electrician who could do anything. He taught me so much, but I only watched him use his power saw. I have inherited it all - a vast treasure trove of well-made tools. I have his Skil circular saw that was probably made in the 60s. I'm retrovating my 1948 mid-century modern home and I need to cut some 1x3s to put the door frames back the way they were. But I was worried that I might injure myself. This teacher used the saw like my father - calm and under control. Thank you for reminding me!
