I hope all of you saw the Marvel's Assembled on Wakanda Forever. It was phenomenal, and they go into all the thought process behind their Namor and Talokan. Absolutely brilliant.

He's a ruler of an underwater kingdom. Close enough.

I think marvel wanted to differ namor and Atlantis from aquaman. By using Aztec culture.

So ridiculous If they aren’t at Atlantis we’ll never see it.

The idea of Atlantis is in the Public Domain, and in fact have been used so many times in other IPs. So it's likely that Marvel wants to do something a bit different.

Kinda like the idea of Linking Namor to ancient Maya Civilization. Like the story of Atlantis is at best an Unverifiable Legend, but linking Namor to a Lost Civilization we Knew Existed dose mix some realism with the fantastical

Atlantis was mentioned in Season 2 of Agents of SHIELD. So yeah, the fact that Atlantis was already confirmed to exist in the MCU means they fucked up continuity by giving us Talokan.

"The MCU's Talocan is not Atlantis"

Wow you don't say.

I know people called this change “woke garbage” but honestly taking the meso-American approach to this underwater city based off of legit legends was a good choice. This helps differentiate Namor from Aquaman and gives us a perspective rarely seen

Too bad, because Marvel's Atlantis has a very interesting lore, going back to the Conan era before it sank, then the waterbreathing atlanteans being created. The serpent crown was always a great story.

Sounds like a person of Euro descent would hate on the decisions made without him.

I'm most certainly sure that we have already talked about this issue if Atlantis exists or not. back a while when the first second trailer and the mvoie were released. It's Talokan, Mayan Culture people. DC already has Aquaman and Atlantis why would Marvel intoduced a character who is also Atlantis except his name is Namor? It's Talokan now Atlantis is just a myth.

So if it's in the pacific ocean shouldn't it be a Polynesian culture?

I wish you were right but I've seen articles stating that they jacked Atlantis and Namor all around so as not to be similar to anything DC has going on with Aquaman. No, all the earmarks are there for the vestiges of Atlantis starting with Namor being called Namor and his blue skinned people which the Atlanteans from the comics were blue skinned. So no, they screwed us out of a real Namor and Atlantis on the Marvel side so they could give us Wokelantis in Wokekanda. But I do agree with you, Talocan is NOT Atlantis. They should have just named him something else and saved Namor and Atlantis but just like everything else coming down the Marvel pipe they screwed it up.

Honestly yeah they probably will recton some of it but mostly no

Wait that means we could see the real Atlantis where a more comic accurate Namor lives. This would explain why Kukulkhan is referred to as Namor by his enemies. They saw flying fish guy and thought that has to be Namor, and he was just like that sounds cool

Lol Atlantis is not real they can put it and change it anyway they want in the comics or movies
