Illustrator Tutorial: Sporty Text (eSports, Football, Basketball, etc.)

A team logo / eSports logo usually doesn't only consists of a mascot, the text is a very important part aswell. In this tutorial we are focusing on changing a font to our needs, to make it look more sporty / aggressive.

I'm stuck at 6:21 where you send your filled in area to the back and then select your text and change it to white. I cannot select my text after I send my fill in to the back. I can only select the whole thing and the whole thing changed to white

Unfortunately. I think there is a step or maybe a difference in version from 5:27 to 6:16. The arrange send to back doesn't reveal any of the outlined expanded shape after you unify the font. Right at 6:17 its when things get a bit funny. The move to back and the "invisible" outline under it are not available. Maybe a preferences thing? I wonder what the issue is. Thanks for the VID tho!

For those thats stuck on step 6:15, make sure your font is not black, because if both of the colors were black, you would not notice it when you send the offset back.This was the problem for me. So basically, make your starting font any color other than black :) hope this helps!

I don't have the option to us group it at 6:12 and the send to back button doesn't make the letters appear, what should I do? (even if u don't know please reply that u don't know so I'll know) EDIT: figured it out on my self nvm

I know that a lot of others have the same problem as I've searched and searched on YouTube, when you hit E for the free transform tool window to pop up, I don't seem to get that, is there something I'm missing or simply an older version of Illustrator?
