Some of you people are absolute assclowns. You’re acting like it’s open heart surgery! It’s a damn go kart, and it’s his! If he wants to pour hot tar in the crankcase it’s his right! Never seen so many professional engine builders on a damn go kart YouTube channel. He spit a head, cam and a piston in that cart in half an hour and will probably run it for 3 more year. Jeez. I think he did just fine.

A couple of things for the people that are whining. 1 The oil was changed right before the meet up and went through about 3 quarts in one day from burning oil. 2 I didn't clean the engine before tearing it down and it runs perfectly fine after. 3 the dowels for the rockers were in the rockers when installed.

Thanks for finally doing some gy6 videos! Not everyone has a Predator on the back! Been hoping to see you get into some gy6 stuff so thanks!

I would really like to see one of these engines taken as far as it can go. Big bore, hot cam, roller valvetrain. Bigger valves, ported head, higher compression. All that fun stuff just to see what it'll do.

I stand by these gy6 motors as one of the best engines to learn how to rebuild an engine on. They’re a great first project. The best second project would probably be something like a predator 212. A small lawnmower engine. But these engines are super forgiving, you don’t have to worry about the bearings as much because it’s all roller bearings. Very simple project to learn the very basics. It’s the first engine I ever rebuilt. My rebuilt motor is super sketch and idk how long it’ll run for but it does run, and it does run well. My issue now is with the stupid cvt.

Nice job, Red! I love watching you build engines, or just about anything. Not much excuse for someone needing a building guide with content like yours! 👍👍

Man people are gonna complain and act like they know everything with there 4 subscribers and a play list of other people's videos lol. I dont own one of these, probably never will, but I still enjoyed watching it. These type of builds/rebuilds are what I enjoy cuz the average person can perform them. Great video!

Just picked up a 150xrx that’s been neglected, but paid $100 for the whole thing, motor an all! Time to rebuild it!

There are upper alignment dowels the go between the rocker cage and head. They go on the opposite engine case / head bolts from the lower ones I do believe. You might have forgotten them.

Great videos, something to note. The wrist pin clip should be installed with the open end facing up or down in reference to the stroke ( I couldn't tell the witch way you did it, not saying you wrong). If they are perpendicular to the stroke, inertia could cause the clip to come out. Thought it would be something for your viewers to know. Really dig your videos, love that setup table!
