If your heels don’t touch the floor in Downward Dog, that’s perfectly normal! Instead of focusing on your heels, prioritize keeping your spine long and your body aligned. Bend your knees if needed to achieve a straight, lengthened spine. As your flexibility improves, your heels will naturally lower over time.

I did “downward dog” once for the first time in a class …
.. I began weeping and could not stop for 25 minutes … floods of tears .. and I had never cried about anything much my whole life,
Anyone know why ??

Lucas, long time yoga teacher here. I usually ask my students to have more weight from hips to heels to lighten the load on the hands/wrists. Heels up, knees bent, tailbone lifted, chest back towards thighs without dumping between the shoulders (ears aligned with arms). Thoughts?
