Steam Trains at Speed - Yorkshire Dales Model Railway

To end the year in style, three ‘pacifics’ take to the line today heading fast trains.

Ex-LMS Coronation Class 46256 backs onto a rake of crimson and cream MK1s before powering off up the line towards Pondon. Bullied light pacific no. 34081 ‘92 Squadron’ hauls six green Bullied coaches in the opposite direction. Finally, Britannia class 70007 thunders parcels train towards its final destination.

Locos featured:
- 46256 LMS Princess Coronation 4-6-2 (Hornby)
- 70007 BR Standard Class 7MT 4-6-2 (Hornby)
- 34081 Battle of Britain Class ‘92 Squadron’ 4-6-2 (Hornby)

Personally i love the embankments, scenics are so good and you capture the deatail of what a rural railway is like so well.
I live on the far north line and this is just fantastic, like a glimpse into history!

Thank you for helping to get so many through this awful year by taking us into your idyllic world where we can forget today and enjoy those sounds and sights of bygone times. It is great to see Sir William Stanier on the layout. I remember seeing one of these when very young and looking in awe at the huge driving wheels before being scared by the roar of safety valves. One of a few memories your videos bring to my mind. Have a Great New Year.

I'm watching this at 10.40 on NYE! The mulled wine is finished and a bottle of Baileys beckons for midnight toasts, but having a fix of Yorkshire Dales Railway is lifting my spirits and inspiring me to progress my own layout in 2021. Cheers, Lewis, have yourself a wonderful New Year.
