I'm 37 years old. Have Non-IT experience of 13 years and shifted to DevOps in 2021. I have learnt all DevOps tools Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes basic knowledge, Shell basic scripting.
Have kept 5years of experience & got through the interview (after rigorous practice) in Capgemini last May 2022.

Post recruitment, I could not clear client's round as they have asked advanced K8s topics. Later I was laid off in Oct 2022.

Since then i have improved technical skills (i.e. on Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Shell, Python basic scripting, AWS). Nowadays no calls. Some I have attended and was able to clear even 3rounds of interview. But no offer was released.
I'm getting low in confidence nowadays as I'm not getting offer letters in spite of good performance. Also, I was informed by my friends that companies do not encourage people aged above 35 & having less experience in IT. Is that true or could be one of the reasons?
Can you please clarify my confusion. Your feedback would be helpful to me definitely. Thanks..

This is a good video highlighting the process to move to a DevOps role instead of just encouraging people by saying "yes you can, anybody can move to DevOps".
As i understand from this video, anybody can move to DevOps role, you just need to figure out which phase of DevOps process you really fit in instead of blindly learning some tools. Thank you for the video. And feel free to correct my understanding if required.

I have 12 years of experience in full stack development previously, worked in all phases of SDLC, customer interaction, team management, worked in an agile environment. I also did my CSM certification. I quit software development out of frustration, and no longer have any inclination toward programming or development. After a career gap I'm now focused on cloud (AWS). My goal for the next 3 years is to progress toward cloud architecture, and not just remain a hands-on cloud engineer. How can I plan for the same?

I had a 4 year's of experience as a configuration and deployment of IT Applications in On-premises High Availability Data centers. Am proficient in Linux. From past 3 years am working as a L3 Application support to work on bug fixes and code changes (Java, Angular, C#) AzureDevops and azure services Integration . I learnt java programming skills, git, build, deploy Applications.

please what do you mean by complex projects that are used in the industry. Whenever, i go online to do projects i see things like "build a static website etc" does that count as a complex project thank you?
