This is such a sad pv. You can feel the Victorians desperation for Survival especially at 0:08. It's like they are saying "Please save us, Your Highness".

ch 12 is the epitome showcase of one the Victoria arc main underlining theme, "nobody will win this war". without looking at ch 13, everything in this ch will be just that, despairing atmosphere at almost every corner for RI, the rebels and Glasgow gang.

spoiler ahead:

even in ch 13 we haven't seen any bright moment for " our" side, and im willing to bet that this arc wouldn't end like how reunion arc did, with RI and Lungmen won even tho ofc so manu sacrifices. this arc will end just RI narrowingly preventing world war but the local war still continues and the status quo remains.

which i fcking appreciate, looking at one of the possible real world reference, the conflict is just unending and from thousands of yrs ago. im not saying there won't be happy ending or a resolve atleast, but it would take so high of a price.

then again it reminds how AK wouldn't go mainstream even if the anime got 10/10 in production lvl simply bcs of this, far too depressing AND most importantly too "limited" in the possibility of imagination that a "hero" will come and save the world bcs the power balance check is almost perfect

Damn, they really nailed the feeling of depression & despair on the faces of these characters. A feeling I don’t normally get when looking at faces in anime. Great job HG 👍

Effing hell, the production quality for this particular PV is absolutely bonkers! The facial expressions, the fluid animation, the background detail and lighting is simply sublime to my eyes. This is what I call ideal anime aesthetic! It's right there with Kyoto, MAPPA, Clover Works and Ufotable... well, maybe not Ufotable but heeeey, it's better than most stuff being pumped out just for content nowadays.
