I feel like the c7 zo6 was already a borderline super car and the c7 zr1 officially gave the car that title. I feel that the main reason is that the car is mid engined now instead of front engined with the front hinged hood that made it iconic but the c8 has grown on me specifically the zo6 the regular stingray is cool though

Even a base Stingray has a sub 3 second 0-60, does the quarter in low 11’s and pulls over 1G. It can run with 99% of anything on the road and especially the track. And it costs around $80K new. Haters gonna hate.

I'm a Ford guy myself but I would absolutely consider a C8 corvette. Midengine cars are criminally underrated in the US. The only one in production among US automakers is the C8 since the GT was discontinued in 2022(and good luck getting your hand on one considering their limited production and 1 million dollar private retail sticker). If Ford or Dodge were to introduce an affordable midengine platform, they'd sell a ton.

The corvette was always supposed to kill super cars and be a super car itself, everyone just didn’t want to include them in the club. The whole argument the c8 isn’t a corvette is dumb cope by people who don’t like that it does supercar things and behaves like a supercar for way less money

A new base c8 corvette was the other car I considered before buying a used model s plaid recently, which is also arguably a supercar. It wont ever handle as well on a track as a corvette, but it is obnoxiously fast and is easier to live with as a daily driver. If I had the kind of money it takes for a dedicated track car, it'd be a c8 corvette.

It's nice to see car prices coming back to reality. I'm glad I waited as long as I did. I expect prices to drop further, allowing people to start driving nice cars again without being financially crippled over it.
