WATCH | Dashcam video shows high-speed, multi-county pursuit that injured Ohio trooper

A trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol was injured in a crash during a multi-county pursuit on June 27 that ended in Wood County.

According to OSHP, a trooper with the Lima Post attempted to stop a vehicle just after 6:30 a.m. for going 86 mph in a 70 mph zone on I-75 northbound near State Route 103 in Allen County.

OSHP said the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit began. The pursuit was briefly terminated near County Road 99 in Hancock County as it entered a work zone, but troopers re-engaged once the vehicle was out of the work zone.

Troopers conducted a "rolling roadblock" by boxing the vehicle in near State Route 613 where OSHP said the suspect vehicle briefly stopped before fleeing again.

They had the vehicle stopped. If they knew how to block it properly, it wouldn't have been able to take off. What a poor attempt by these officers. They all need retraining.

The pursuit didn't injure the trooper, he cut off that truck and braked. That was his screw up.

I've been saying this time and again across multiple chase videos. When a backup unit arrives for assistance, they should park their squad directly in front of the vehicle in question. That prevents a possible escape and shuts down the chase along with protects other motorists. The trooper who parked his cruiser leaving a full escape opportunity needs some tactical training.

You have to be really stupid to cut off a tractor trailer carrying one of those containers and then slamming on your brakes in front of him. The police report said the truck driver cut the trooper off as he was passing in the slow lane and was given a ticket for reckless driving. The truck driver said he was cut off by the trooper.

The random ending where the stupid officer ruins some truckers life. The cop got to go home to bed and sleep soundly while the trucker had to worry about their license being revoked for the crash and was likely under investigation by their employer.

I remember a time when the Ohio State Patrol was comprised of the best and brightest in law enforcement, this is like watching the Keystone Cops. The pursuit never would have continued had the Trooper properly blocked the vehicle when it pulled over. Next, why is it that a Kai/Hyundai econobox can outrun the OSHP cruiser? These guys should be embarrassed of themselves.
