I think this is a truly wonderful sequencer, with the Soul of Don Buchla inside. Not to difficult, not too deep to get started, but when you decide go deep it just gets better and better. It needs a bit of manual diving, but hey, power comes with a price. Didn't expect this one to be in your rack, but I am 100% confident it will add millions of new dimensions, even if you just use it for gates and CV. The original used to be called an 'arbitrary function generator' which translates to 'completely unexpected movement' (but not random). It's alive.

Awesome review per usual 💯 Love the style of your breakdowns and jams, feels like a very natural exploration of the modules and appreciate you never hesitate to push the limits🤘 And the shakmat drums might be my fav new modules without question

Red mode for CV will hold the previous cv value until the next (active) one appears. A bit like when you’d use a s&h for the pitch separately from rhythmic (gates/triggers) related stuff. This is completely independent from the other cv and gate layers. You could modulate a filter cutoff with cv b while pitch at cv a is held until you give it a new value. Same goes for red gate modes: underlying pitch could still be changing without Usta firing a new gate (f.i. with longer decay/release times on the envelope. Usta might require some studying, but I think it’s amongst the most powerful sequencers out there.

I have Usta for a month and even though it's a bit complicated I really love it.
Great video as always 👍

Great track, that's definitely a patch I'd leave going for days. I'll definitely take a closer look at the usta

Cool to see more frap tools modules! This sequencer is right up my alley, though I'm kinda waiting for Stillson Hammer mkiii and they tread somewhat similar ground.

*edit* Also damn this jam turned out sick.

how can we make something as unintuitive and complicated as possible
