Sky's security and defence editor Deborah Haynes has been exploring the Sumy region in northeastern Ukraine, which sits on the Russian border.

It's a key area from where Ukraine launched its invasion into Russia just over a week ago.

It's good to know that there's a region of Russia that now has freedom of speech and free journalist going around.

Deborah Haynes showing more courageousness and fearlessness in one single news report than in Putin's entire existence

Great journalist. How the hell is she moving in jeans that tight? Needs more practical pants for that area.

What a move by Ukraine. I have bad vibes about the outcome though. May God be with them all the way.

Arguably, the MOST important, if unrecognised, consideration is that Ukraine is now or soon within artillery striking distance of the Kursk nuclear power plant (NPP). Remember the radioactive cloud going north because of the prevailing winds after the disaster at Chernobyl? If RU dares use a nuclear weapon, Ukraine can retaliate and the NPP will send a radioactive cloud immediately to Moscow, 300 miles due north. This invasion is ridding RU of its nuclear threat through “mutual deterrence” and actually preventing WW3. The West could ensure, and long could have ensured, the deterrence by giving permission to Ukr to use Storm Shadows and other long-range missiles to take out the NPP, if justified. Superb news.
