I’m going to hurt myself. Inspired by the Ginunting knife – the official sword of the Philippine Marines, this is the GalIantry. No one is allowed to talk about how badly I butchered the name pronunciation … Thank you. Made for both outdoor bushcraft and martial arts, the Gallantry features a scythe-like blade from 1075 high carbon steel. Designed primarily by Ruben Rodriguez Jr who is trained extensively in martial arts, specifically knife and sword fighting within the PTK combat style! This was also in collaboration with Jason Brenden and my friend Jason Marsteiner, owner of the Survival University.

I am eager to take this out to the woods to see how it performs in outdoor applications.

I got this beast at TheSurvivalUniversity.com.

There is one constant in this world, everyone gets excited when holding a sword

Fun fact, it's designed for 1 handed use. Check out how they train with them in the Philippines. The name of the blade is ginunting

Fun fact: most of Filipino knives/swords are dual purpose, for war and agriculture.

Ginunting right here are mostly used to clear out overgrown grass or harvesting crops.

Just a piece of advice: When ordering a sword, always also order a tourniquet and in case. 😉

I bought a Katana. Razor sharp. Got brave and carefully took a strong swing at a 3.5-4" living tree branch.
That was instant respect. I cannot imagine how brutal and bloody combat was back then. Swords. Whoa.

That's one where you are very conscious of how much damage you could do to yourself.

Your enthusiasm is contagious. It's the first time I feel happy for another person :)
It's so awesome to see a normal person studying a sword instead of watching an arrogant person who believes that knows everything trying to teach something he barely knows.
This video made my day :)

I have been a practitioner of Filipino Martial Arts for 33 Years, and I can tell you have picked a Fine Weapon. I would recommend studying Kali, it is a Brutal Style, all of its applications still studied by Militaries all over the World👍
