Soft Bao bun recipe (bread without oven)

Super soft bao buns(Bread without oven)

Ingredients
Flour - 150gm
yeast - 1/2tsp
baking powder - 1/2tsp
sugar - 1/2tsp
milk - 40ml
oil - 1/2tbsp
water - as required

1.In a bowl add mixture of milk and water which is 40ml-40ml)sugar & yeast leave it for 5mins.
2.In another bowl add flour,baking powder, salt and mix well add the yeast mixture & form a rough dough then add oil and knead for 8 mins till it becomes smooth.
3.Divide the dough into 5 equal parts and roll them slightly thick .And carefully place them on a butter paper.Cover with a damp cloth and leave it for 45 mins.
4.Prepare the steamer arrange the buns on it and cover .light on the gas and steam it for 15mins.(Do not on the gas before)
5. Turn off the gas and let them be in the steamer for 5 mins then remove them .Make sandwiches, falafel Bao buns ,etc and enjoyyy...

Why am I seeing alot of YouTube BAO recipes using milk when it's not traditional in Chinese BAO? Also Commercially made BAO is Vegan without dairy. Milk is usually for baking; not steaming.
