I just got this Rav4. Within it's limits the radar cruise pretty much drove me all the way to Texas from Florida. Some turns may be too sharp and the active steering cuts out. If you let go of the steering wheel it will eventually warn you that it's abput to shut off with a beep. I find that lightly placing my hand on the wheel allows it to steer for you without any real input from you except the resistence the steering wheel feels from your hand just being there. Stop and go traffic this thing is a champion. The radar does a way better job than I could possibly do. If you come to a complete stop just tap resume when the vehicle in front starts moving. Set the distance to close to accelerate faster after the car in front goes. Set the distance to the furthest setting if you suspect a hard stop is about to come up. Either way I let jesus take the wheel in both scenarios and the vehicle will not let you hit anybody. Be wary of people cutting you off. The breaks only apply if it sense a car slowing down. If you get cut off with no space in front of you and they break I'm not sure if the computer can handle it....happened too me twice and I chickened out and applied the breaks my self. Radar cruise is great for long distance driving. However cities like Dallas with busy 4 lanes or more i turn it off if the traffic gets crazy with the constant merging.

The reason it doesn't work around that turn is because the system has a limit on the number of degrees it allows the steering wheel to turn. That turn was too aggressive

I have the rav4, its a nice drive, but the adaptive cruise control reacts too late and accelerate too fast for my taste. Works ok if the traffic is fluid in the motorway, but the moment cars brake/acclerate is not so good if you compare to other manufacturers adaptive cruise control. Fuel consumption for hybrid is excellent. Overall a good car

Hello from Australia. Thanks for making the video! Learnt a lot from it, but not game on trying my 3 week old RAV 😀

My Honda CR-V works about the same. When a van or whatever pulls in front of me, no matter how close to me in front, if they are pulling away from me and not getting closer, the speed will keep following them and not slow down.

To bypass restrictions of LTA and Dynamic Cruise Control
First buy a medium sized POM juice at super market. Drink the juice and replace it with water. Place the POM bottle at the 2 O’Clock position inside the steering wheel. It can be secured with a long rubber band or hair band. Turn on LTA. While driving on an interstate highway, turn on adaptive cruise control and set the desired speed. While on a straight portion of the road the dashboard icons will show that the lanes have been captured. Take your hands off of the wheel but be sure the bottle is in place. Learn the rules for safely using the auto pilot. Lanes Must be visible. There Must be lane markings so watch on and off ramps, tar, snow rain. Do not use in traffic, or in construction sites. Be careful when passing traffic. You may need to react to lane changers. Be watchful of lanes ALWAYS being captured. I use this method on my 2021 Rav4 and have gone 4-500 miles with it.

Good video. While for Toyota cruise control system, the most big issue I found, is that there is no signal/flag that clearly tell you that car is in cruise.
"Press cruise control main switch to turn DRCC on" doesn't mean it's at cruise. You must "press set button" so that car start cruise with the speed at that moment set at cruise speed. The button meaning define and explain is so confusing.
I owned Honda car, and their cruise control is so easy to understand: "push cruise button" and car goes into cruise mode right away based on current speed. "+/-" button just increase/decrease speed. Once you brake to certain lower speed, car will take that lower speed as cruise speed. So easy to operate and understand.

Thx for making this vid I have been wondering if my rav 4 le had auto break good to know
But one thing toyota should add is if you don't hold the steering wheel when it tells you to the car should wait to merge onto a pull over lane and stop the car and if something happend the cat should send its location to toyota and someone could help you if you're unctuous

I saw a Tesla video where they put a small weight on the side of the steering wheel. That way the car thinks you are holding the steering wheel and lane assist doesn't turn off.

Hi, thank you for the video. It is not very clear that when you drive with cruise control 'on' will the car come to a complete stop without applying brakes, if the car in front stops. Will the car automatically start moving forward again when the car in front starts moving? Would you please explain?

Hello Brother! Thanks a Lot for the review! I had a few questions for you:
1. We're you driving an LE?
2. How well did the Rav4 steer? Was it not vague and really good with sharp turns?
3. How is the power of the Rav4 acceleration?

I am considering buying one and i would really appreciate it man!

Thanks for the video. It wasn't really clear, but what happens if you don't touch the steering wheel when it wants you to?

Thanks very much for this.
When the car is coming to a complete stop, does the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control activate the brake lights so that the car behind is warned / shown that you are coming to a stop?

Your video has been very helpful and I have been watching your tutorial video like how to change the oil. Thank you for your videos.

I have questions, what method do you use on your rav4 when you going downhill? Using manual brake and D mode or you use S mode or do you use "Adaptive cruise control"? I'm looking the healthiest mode without breaking the car or the braking system if the downhill is 1-2 miles.
