I wish the Hobbit trilogy ended with Balin visiting Bilbo and given a monolog of what happened to Dale, Erebor, and the elves. It could have also ended with Balin expressing to Bilbo his desire to reclaim Moria in the near future.

As a fellow traveler I found it so sweet that he kept the hood from his first adventure. I still have my first compass .

Man, it would've been interesting if Thorin survived the battle of Dale. He would've discovered the truth about Bilbo carrying the One Ring. Plus, he would join the council of Elrond. I can imagine the conversation he would have with Gimli.

"If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world". What a quote, and what an excellent video. Thank you!

You are so good at finding those little touches Tolkien wove into his stories with such poignancy. That image of Bilbo, 60 years after the adventure that defined him, reaching for his old dwarven cloak and hood, is something I will remember better now because of your video.

I would've loved to see the second battle of Dale. it's so easy to forget the war of the ring extended beyond the realms of men

I like to believe that the dwarves who helped Bilbo set up his 111th birthday were from Thorin's company.

I can't help but imagine Bombur, who was unwilling to refuse the call of battle as any dwarf would do, going to the battlefield in some sort of combat wheelchair, taking advantage of his weight and body mass to knock out and roll over the easterlings like rag dolls.

Thorins last words always give me pause every time i hear them, they are words of one who has seen everything the world has to offer and also one who has been struck with greed

no matter how you look at it, the world would be a much happier place if we saw more value in food and cheer.... the hobbits live just a gentle life they can live so many life times and never once wonder about the horrors of war or the greed of man

one of the biggest reasons i love Tolkien and his works is that i can go on so many adventures, i personally think he had more adventures he wanted to take us on, i wish we got to see more of his world

a theory video on “what if Thorin had lived into the war of the ring” would be 🔥🔥🔥

Balin should have listened to King Dain, who actually glimpsed Durin's Bane. The expedition to Moria was a terrible mistake.

I wish there was more about Bilbo's second and final visit to Erebor

Their feet ruffled among the dead leaves of countless other autumns that drifted over the banks of the path from the deep red carpets of the forest.

Still Bombur slept and they grew very weary. At times they heard disquieting laughter. Sometimes there was singing in the distance too. The laughter was the laughter of fair voices not of goblins, and the singing was beautiful, but it sounded eerie and strange, and they were not comforted, rather they hurried on from those parts with what strength they had left. - The Hobbit - Chapter 8- Of Flies & Spiders.

You guys rock this. You know that you really bring it to life. I can't imagine a better storytelling voice or a better story to tell. Thank you so much!

I’ve always pictured Minus Tirith being a place after Sauron’s defeat. As a place that could become a multi race city. To have men dwarf elves hobbits and others living there. Rebuilt then expanded. Having other cities built onto the mountain face like the first to both sides. As well as having large caverns built inside the mountain for protection if needed. This place could become the hub of all middle earth. Becoming a mega city mountain. Where the riches of the mountain shared among those that actually live there and not passing through. Man if it was like this Sauron’s orgs wouldn’t never have breached the gates. Having Men Elf & Dwarfs working together as one force.

11:17 Intresting, I did not know Bilbo would again travel to Erebor.

This is an especially excellent presentation for me. Who doesn't love the dwarves through all their quirks and follies. Even though I've read the series six times, I still feel your presentations add depth to my understanding. Thank you!

Harkens back to the early vids of the channel with the vids of some of the dwarves of the company. Whatever is said of the Hobbit trilogy i will give it credit for fleshing out this group a whole lot more.

It would be nice if they made a movie covering the battle between the men of dale/dwarves of Erebor vs the Easterlings.

It’d be cool to see those members of Thorin’s company again on screen.
