I have had (years ago) what they call RTS Return To Sender shots. To explain for those who don't know. The ammo doesn't get out the pouch while shooting but instead it flies right back to the shooters face. I never have been hit but its quite scary if you think about it. Thats a reason for wearing safety glasses. Which i don't do anymore because i shoot 6 years now every day and i don't have these things anymore but when learning to shoot its always good to wear eye protection. In fact its ALWAYs good to wear eye protection :p

I came into this video because yesterday it happened to me too. I'm quite a novice to ss, some months of experience but never happened before. Yesterday I replaced my bands with stronger ones (0.65 to 0.75) and on 10 strokes I hit my fork 3 times. Didn't understand in the beginning what was happening but on the third hit my upper fork broke in 2 pieces, luckily the 8mm bb didn't hit me. I'm right hand. I don't know why. I double check and bands length was equal. Ss was 90° on all axes and my posture seems ok. I suspect I have problems in releasing the pouch maybe due to dry skin of my thumb because of winter but I'm not sure. Dear GZK boss, can you make a video tutorial on fork hit, what to check and what to do to avoid this? I'm now a bit scared and a bit discouraged... I like ss shooting and I wouldn't like to stop. Thank you very very much! Greetings from Italy.

Have had that a couple of times, too. Not very pleasant, but at least it makes you more careful. Wear them safety glasses, folks!

Fork hits are unpleasent and damage the Slingshot. Far worse I think is "return to sender" (RTS) where the projectile stays inside the pouch and is shot backwards. Happened to me twice when I started using Copydex...

I had it with a luck ring from dankung, due to the small gap, and I didn't know about twisting an tweaking the pouch.

The same reason is i don't shoot semi butterfly or butterfly, is i am scared of forkhits

I shot my hand once too.
