Awe the story of your mother’s scent made me cry….my mom went to the dr in May and found out she had stage 4 adenocarcinoma in her lungs and now is in hospice care. I immediately got her two favorite perfumes bc they were her favorites. 1. Chanel No 19 & #2 is Estée Lauder Private Collection. I’ll wear them when I want to feel close to her, even though the Estée Lauder is not great on me. Thank you for sharing this video with us.

Girl you are taking me back! My first scents I remember are Revlon Charlie. So strong. Then when I was a preteen I wore Loves baby soft and Navy by Cover girl. I also loved Exclamation and Electric youth. To me Jucy couture (with the pretty pink bow) smells like I remember they did. Then as a teenager I wore Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden. I also wore Red Door by Elizabeth Arden. I had a boyfriend that gave me Red by Georgia Armani. My sweet 16 gift was Tender Poison. That was my signature scent! I was obsessed. I also wore CK One. Then I got into some Mary Kay perfumes and I also wore Cool water in my early 20s. I don’t remember wearing much perfume when my kids were small except I actually wore Stella too and Gap Dream. I don’t think I’ve ever been complimented more that that body spray! 😳
In the mid 2000s I got the original Coach perfume. I love that. I also wore twilight Woods by BBW. Then around 2013 I got into Jo Malone and pomegranate Noir was my signature. Now within the last couple of years I would say I don’t have much of a signature. Maybe Miss Dior but I have so many scents now I rotate so much! This was a fantastic video! I would love to film something like this. You took me soooo way back.
Lastly there’s two scents I remember my mom wearing. Estée Lauder Cinnabar and Knowing. Especially knowing. My dad would always get her that. ❤️

My first fragrance memory is my grandma’s Chantilly Lace perfume... my dad wearing Polo EDT (the original that came out in 1978) ... I was rummaging through my parents’ things with my mom the other day and smelled it... wow! Brought back memories of my childhood!

Aww that was my favourite video you’ve ever done! So lovely being taken through a perfume journey! My earliest perfume memory is of my (late) mother wearing Christian Dior Dune…I just remember thinking she smelt so beautiful. When I smell that scent now it brings tears to my eyes. She wore so many iconic scents including DKNY woman! I love how scent evokes such emotions and transports us to places.

Avon’s Sweet Peach and little blossom, in all forms. Then Exclamation, my sister’s eternity and Ashley Allysa Musk. Teens belonged to CKOne, the Ma Griffe and Baryshnikov (my dad bought me those). Jlo Glo, Stella McCartney Rose Absolute, Love Spell, Insolence, Marchesa, Balenciaga Paris, JPG classic, and about 350+ more

What a cool video concept! My mom tells me in the 80s, she had Avon perfumes and Coty Wild Musk. We have different scent preferences but we both love fragrances

My earliest fragrances (preteen years, mid/late 80's) were Coty Wild Musk, Exclamation and Love's Baby Soft.
Gap So Pink was one of my casual fragrances in my mid twenties. I went through quite a few bottle. I just finished my last bottle a couple years ago and I still miss it a little.

Hi Sarah. It's so refreshing to go back in time and reminisce, I at least, enjoy that. So nice. Thank you for taking us in your olfactive journey. I have tried to go back in time myself to find out how I got into this rabbit hole of a "hobby" (more like an addiction). 😄

Wow, this took me back…just seeing the bottles and the names, I can remember the scent. I completely forgot about Exclamation and L’Effleur but seeing the bottles transported me to another time 😄 Burberry Women is still my signature scent, I love it!

I absolutely loved hearing your fragrance journey! I have thought back on all the perfumes I wore and loved and it makes me want to find my very first, Loves Baby Soft, but as I a 60 now, I am afraid even a very vintage bottle, which do come up on ebay, will not smell the same and I will have wasted money and ruined my scent memory. I also wore Charlie the original. I think back to all the chypres I wore that are no longer made nor popular. My all time signature for years was Halston then Misouko. I still wear them a lot even though my collection is oversized. Thank you! This was a great video.

I TOTALLY agree with everything you said about stella. There's something special about it, i'm not sure what it is, but it's so pretty! I'm also so happy that you mentioned cherry in the air. I blind bought a bottle at tj max years ago and loved it so much. At the time, I had no idea that it was limited edition. I miss it!!

Greetings from Northern California coast Every since last year, when life turned into a sh*t-show and I was spending more time at home, then I have ever done in my life…I became obsessed with fragrances/different scents and having a wave of scent memories. Then I found Sarah Mayes channel and began my journey to purchasing and truly embracing fragrances as my new love in life…Personally, it makes me happy, when I just need to something to feel beautiful and a have a flood of memories /good memories coming back to life. So, every time I see a new video…I am on it, because my credit card/debit card is going to feel the pain, and I trust Ms. Mayes opinions and give things a shot or send it on its way aka to Mercari, plus I just added a new cabinet in my house so, I have room and yes, I do wear a different scent every day. I have my favorites and my most loved. Thanks Sarah and congratulations on finding your happy in a new job and valuable time with your child and husband.

Oh Sarah, the first two perfumes you mentioned remind me of my mom as well, and Tendré Poison was by far my favorite perfume. It brought tears to my eyes! Thank you for reminding me of beautiful times in my life!

Such a nostalgic and wonderful journey - loved this video! 🤗 I live in Sweden and had many of the same fragrances in my teens and early twenties, actually I had forgotten about Polo Sport, thanks for reminding me! Now I mostly wear Amouage fragrances, so yes..tastes definitely change. Haha.
