SpaceX's Starship Interior Design Update
On April 20, Starship achieved a significant milestone thanks to its first test launch, an undeniable feat. This accomplishment has provided SpaceX with valuable data to further develop the Starship for critical future missions, particularly those involving human passengers.
But just a spacecraft that can fly won't mean anything to Elon Musk's goal of colonizing Mars, Starship also requires to have a meticulously planned and designed interior space to cater to extended-duration stays. That's something they've changed!
Nick Cummings, senior director of SpaceX, recently unveiled an exciting revelation about the interior design of the Starship that includes a host of features and amenities guaranteed for an enjoyable trip to any celestial destination.

Again the old renders with the "glass" wall. Elon himself said it was a fantasy. As the weight of such a thing would be all the crews food. So no, not gonna happen. The original release was a SOLAR ARRAY. But they ran with everyone thinking they were windows. Some of the drawings were much better however. Showing just how little room there actually is for crew, verses cargo and life support. A crew of 20 for the moon and 2 weeks (food and water and air) and a crew of 8 for a trip to Mars. Unless they install NIRVA for faster transits

Thank you for including Design Freedom designs and our VR interactive tour, but typically YouTube channels request permission first or at least credit the source material. Design Freedom promotes and supports enthusiasts and startups to develop concept designs for the space industry, and we would kindly request that you provide a linked reference to the featured content for a clear understanding of the design intent and its source.

Starships flying to Mars in tethered* and spinning pairs could use ordinary toilets, bathrooms, shower rooms, and kitchens, once they were under way. The speed of spin could be progressively slowed from Earth G to Mars' G throughout the journey. Looking out might be the only problem . . . * tethered by their noses 500m apart. They already have these suspension points!

What I find interesting is how did they not explain how to extract the methane from the waste to be used to power the ship? Also, connect all the treadmills and excersize bikes to the Tesla battery and use that to power the ship in addition to the solar power.

The exercise equipment could be modified to generate electricity: bicycles, treadmills, rowing machines, etc.

The design overall layout owes a lot more to IT THE TERROR FROM BEYOND SPACE than anything from STAR TREK or STAR WARS (maybe that's why STTOS couldn't find a way of adapting the film as an episode, which was discussed).

My expectation for trips to mars, is that two ships will be joined by a long beam and the system will be spun to provide artificial gravity. When they arrive, the ships will be de-spun and the beam will be removed.

From the video title I was expecting a description of the actual design from SpaceX rather than a lot of speculation. I doubt there will be lots of empty space inside the final Starship as empty space requires structure which adds weight and weight is a premium when launching things into space. By the way fuel cells were developed for use in space craft long ago. I believe there were fuel cells on the Apollo missions back in the 1960’s. Their application to power production and cars on the ground is relatively new by comparison.

Very interesting. And btw with all this fantastic design, has any thought been given to the tedious need for propulsion systems, such as tankage, header tank in the nose, and the central downcomer? Oh, THAT!!

Part of the reason they are working tirelessly at Boca Chica is because the last launch destroyed the launch pad.

I would pack inflatable modules and once the starship is on its way to Mars, deploy the modules, and transfer the exercise and private room features into the modules. It will give the crew something to do.
Fill the starship volume with supplies.

The bounce-around deck--just below the command deck--will almost certainly be overtaken by extra but needed life-support stuff, such as bulkier hydroponics.

Just saying, a crew starship could easily carry 100 people to Leo comfortably but no station supports that many. When crewing the iss, what are they gonna do with all the extra space? They could use it for cargo but there’s enough space in there to launch the ISS into space in a starship.

Why not provide some artificial gravity on the Starship in Space to the Moon & Mars by rotating the sleeping quarters deck or outer ring of the vertical sleeping beds? You could strap into bed & gain some healthy gravity at night. Is 1 G possible?

There is no way that Starship will have acceleration couches oriented in different directions. It is likely that they will all be oriented with feet towards the tiled side of the space ship to make re-entry tolerable. There are three high g times in a starship flight. Launch, re-entry and landing. Launch and landing will have g forces in the same direction, but re-entry will have g-forces 90 degrees from launch or landing. Acceleration couches must accommodate both g force vectors. You model has some passengers on their side during re-entry, and others hanging by their seat belts.

7:03 may exceed the practical limits after launch.
That about sums it up.
The space required to grow enough food for one person is 1/4 acre or about 10, 900 square feet.
For one person.

So did I miss the updates of Starship as all these renders have been shown before ?

First priority ought to be to get it to the point where it can actually get into earth orbit, and then there is the pesky problem of landing without blowing up.

There is a glaring error in he artist's concept as the header tank and its long plumbing is not shown.

where do you get the information about the windows? especially alarge windows seem unfeasable due to material stress during launch and reentry?! i think this is all complete speculation actually :D
