【Pls look at the top comment first】De Mont is from Sydney, Australia and the band could have become a big name throughout the Southern Hemisphere and even spread worldwide, but nowadays less information can be found about this past band. I really hope they are still on stage like many other bands after decades because they used to be well-known for hard rock and melodic rock fans and won popularity in Australia. Look at their early videos to know how popular and welcome they were, more than one video as they had taken. Look at the crowded audience, especially those crazy girls.
This debut "Body Language (1989)" is their representative record including the most impressive songs of De Mont, also symbolized those days of a lively De Mont in Australian rock, while their second album called "R.I.P.ped (1992)" seemed to be uneventful. Generally, their second record is not inferior to the debut in both songwriting and production, maybe because of the title or the lack of publicity. As a five-piece band inclduing the keyboardist (see him play keytar in this video), the style of De Mont mostly can be defined as melodic hard rock, much harder than pure aor as they really rocks. Gorgeous keyboards with strong riffs and splendid solos on guitar play vital roles in their works as you can easily catch these hooks from each tracks.
I recommend this slow ballad which can be welcome by aor lovers, very peaceful and melodious because the voice of Craig Morrison can be both powerful and tender. I have modified the sound quality from these nostalgic scenes, so everyone can hear a comparatively clear and flawless version of this song from the music video and witness these very classic moments of De Mont, the Australian rocking men of their youth in the golden era if you miss 1980s very much. Does anyone find their debut cover looks familiar in the eyes?
