Laurel had her faults and flaws but her mother who was supposed to raise her and teach her the right things instead put her in a position that as a child she did not deserve to be in.

She dated him for like 1 or 2 week when Frank ignored her when he left and hurt her, she cheated on him as soon as she saw Frank come back in her life and now try to convince us that she loved him in romantic way, come on she was always with Frank from the beginning I have never seen an ambiguity between them, yes they became friends in season 2 but being friends and being in love are not the same thing, the writers really made Laurel so annoying, her character’s development had any consistency while she was one of the best character in the first seasons
She loved Wes I agree but she loved him as person to me because he was a good guy but she was clearly not IN LOVE with him in romantic way, if you are so in love with someone you don’t cheat on him as soon as you see your ex, she acts like this just because he died and she felt some guilty(because of the cheating and her parents)so she over-compensating because of her guilt, also she was pregnant, it’s like in real life when someone died people put him in pedestal, if Wes hadn’t die in the long run I suspect she would’ve continued to cheat on him, i mean it was very telling that she did it even when her and Wes were on their perfect phase, I’m sorry but I will never buy this thing with Wes in romantic sense, they should have stayed friends or rather made their relationship more convincing even if I still think that they didn’t have romantic chemistry together
I’ m tired to see how the writers changed so fast their feelings with any sense

Beautiful video! I shipped Wes and Laurel so much and cried when my Wes died, but I mean, come on Laurel! I thought you were better than a cheater. Laurel might've loved Wes, but she definitely loves Frank more, even though I don't like to admit it. HTGAWM is the best though <3

I've been looking at all your comments and I see it like this first off if you see in the flashbacks, they dated a lot longer than weeks probably months. Because at that point which Idk why they did this they kinda fast fowarded to wes dying. Which even for me as a man i cried a little. Jus because Wes grew on me, watching him grow up and mature. But for me personally I hate what they did to him. He went from a cool as dude into a snitch and kinda a asshole at times. And now addressing the love w laurel situation. I agree with one of yall that her love for frank and wes were totally different. The reason why her and frank never worked was bc she never loved wes the way she loved frank. She even said herself he reminded her of her father . I think she loved Wes as a person and a boyfriend which is why they were smitten with eachother as much as they were. Even now addressing the being friends situation, we gotta understand just bc the show didn't show them being friends in the 1st season doesn't mean they weren't. They had their moments in the 1st season. But they were focused on their relationships more. Once they were both single we got to explore their actual feelings and they blossomed into easily potientally one of the best relationships on the show to me

People have been arguing this out in the comments...But i don’t care Wes loved Laurel it was always her and Laurel loved Wes more than she realized, she just had too much of a broken idea of what love was. What Frank to her is temptation. If Wes hadn’t died and they had gotten the chance to continue and raise their child. I can tell you that it would’ve been absolutely beautiful. But that’s just my opinion

She was definitely over compensating because she felt guilty for cheating on him and lying to him because to be honest her lovestory with him was to me probably the most poorly written romance on the show, Laurel was obsessed with Frank like 1 hour before dating Wes for months, she cheated on Wes immediately after seeing Frank come back, and after Wes died she overreacted so much until the point she became so annoying and just inconsistent to me, if they forced the friendship maybe it would’ve been believable but the lovestory it was just ridiculous they made her acting like a widow it was too much to me

Cheating is a choice not a mistake, I just think that the guilt became too much on top of pregnancy, i don’t think she was really in love with him, i mean stop it it wasn’t realistic and believable, of course she is valid to be sad about her friend’s death, but I think she just exaggerated the thing, i definitely believe that if he weren’t her baby daddy and weren’t dead, they had have just broke up eventually, in the long run i suspect she would have gotten bored with him and probably gone back to someone like Frank, I mean it was very telling that she cheated on him during their short relationship while they were on their phase « beginning of relationship : honey moon phase », Wes was just a better option to her than Frank because Frank was like her father, but I didn’t really believe on her love since she cheated on him and since she was just obsessed with Frank just before dating Wes, she definitely loved Wes more but to me she was clearly more in love with Frank

All I see in the comments is "you don't cheat on someone you love", "they dated for two weeks". No, they dated for months, they imply it from the moment they start dating. And of course she loved him, otherwise she would'nt have sought justice and would have moved on like everyone else. Cheating on someone doesn't mean that you don't love him, only that you made the mistake of letting yourself be carried away by the passion of the moment, especially if it is with someone you had history, it doesn't mean that it is fair or that it is right, but it is reality. And, although they have not been dating for years, they had known each other for a long time and also, they were close, best friends, they always supported each other. And that "she went too far after Wes died" or "she needs to relax", really? Imagine losing someone you love and someone else telling you "relax". She is suffering, have empathy.
