Very happy with this Dual Fuel Champion we run it 99% on propane.
It has about 175 hours on it.
Full Synthetic oil only changed @ 50 hrs & 100 thereafter.
During the Infamous Feb 2021 Texas Ice Storm it ran flawlessly for first day about 24 hours then suddenly shut down. Oil wasn't low.
Heard the Oil Level low sensor can go bad so disconnected & no change.
See whole video for how shutdown occurs.
I'm NOT uploading to DIS Champion - I just want their Tech Guys to see this videos so they can advise me.

Once this is resolved Ill upload a new video review of how this strong Gen powers most of our home thru Transfer Switch.

*100% best **Generater.Systems** I have used. A test for hurricane prep here in Louisiana: three AC units, 5000, 5000 & 8000, 3 fridges, 2 device power setups, 4 flat screens....AND I had 40% of the power meter to spare.*

Dude, I wanted to let you know. Thank you, thank you, thank you for mentioning the troubleshooting you did before finding the solution. The low oil sensor was the key. I learned how to take apart and clean a carburator before finding your videos so I am not too upset that I spent that time but if you hadnt of mentioned the low oil, who knows how long I would of been lost for. Thank you again, sincerely.

I'm so glad I came across your videos.

I was researching what generator to buy as a portable home power backup since up here in Ontario Canada, we too have more than our share of power outages.

Apparently, from the online reviews I've read, the AVR problem you encountered is not uncommon with that model. That however, did not dissuade me from ordering a Champion 7500 watt Dual Fuel Generator after watching your videos.

Given the number of parts that go into making these units, I can totally understand the likelihood that something will break sooner or later, regardless of the brand. What motivated me to purchase this was that I could have the ability to run on either LPG or gasoline . This is a huge advantage and so is good customer support. I also discovered that there's no shortage of aftermarket parts for when the 3-year warrantee runs out :)

Again, thank you for sharing your experiences (good and bad). It allowed me to make a better informed decision about what product to buy.

Did you get the answer on how to fix. Ours is brand new used it for the first time ran great for 4 hours then stopped and doing the same as yours.

If it won't run when you take it off choke the jet in the carburetor is more than likely clogged. When storing my generator I always use seafoam and turn the gas off and let it die on its own. I'VE run generators 40 years minimum problems. SEAFOAM

Petcock sticking? You’d be surprised as the rubber gasket in the petcock can get worn out. Also did you spray your carb good? Sticking injector ?

I have an older (8 years old) 7500 watt champion genny with only 64 hours on it and it is consuming way too much oil. It will shut down on low oil after only running about 8 hours. I called champion and they are sending me new rings and gaskets to repair it free of charge even though it is well out of warranty. I love the unit. It is very reliable and starts and runs great. I guess that for some reason the rings did not seat very well. But I would recommend them and I would buy another myself in a hart beat.

Mine runs fine on propane, but will only run for 30 sec on gas. It has been sitting up for at least 2 years. Surely I ran all the gas out before storage. BTW I used this unit for many hours during the feb.2021 winter storm, however only used gas because with propane in the cold weather it would not run for very long.

Check the main fuel jet… Take it out and clean it put it back in and release the gas cap

I’ve got the same problem, champion told me it was the avr on the gen side but it didn’t help

I have a Champion dual fuel 9000 watt and when I push the start toggle, I can hear the starter make it's noise, but the engine isn't turning over.
Is that the solenoid? And how do you know how many hours you have on yours? Is there an hour meter somewhere?

kinda defeats the object of having a generator when it doesn't work
