“Pakistan shot itself in the foot”, says former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the financial and social troubles facing the country. Addressing the candidates of his party PML-N, Sharif said that neither India nor the U.S. or Afghanistan were responsible for Pakistan’s troubles. The politician, who is looking for re-election next year, indirectly pointed fingers at the military establishment and the judiciary, saying they were responsible for his ouster from power in 1993, 1999 and 2017.
