Appollo Mission 12, upon leaving the moon the ascent stage was jettisoned to crash back into the moon. The result being, and NASA said, that the moon rang like a "bell" for an hour. Interesting times ahead, me thinks, for any future moon missions.

The moon has vast amounts of the helium isotope. Whoever harnesses the energy of the moon will rule the earth. This is just one of the highly valued products the moon has to offer. There is far more happening there then we are being told. Galileo wrote in his journals that he saw movement on the moon with his telescope. That was 100s of years before man could even fly. So what was he seeing?

I find lunar and space exploration thoroughly fascinating. That said, every single penny spent trying to leave our planet while humans are hungry and homeless is a horrible decision to me. I am all in on exploration AFTER we take care of the people on our planet.

They say the rotation of the moon is synchronized with the rotation of the earth, and with this hypothesis, the reason we only see one side of the moon. If this is truly the case, then why haven't we seen the "totality" of the moon, viewed from the exploration spacecraft sent from Earth? The spacecraft isn't synchronized with either, the earth or the moon, we have numerous pictures of the earth's rotation, why not the moon?

They didn't discover helium 3, they confirmed that it's there. We've known about helium 3 being abundant on the surface for many years
