I studied stat math twenty years ago and because of life lost/forgot basically everything I had learned. I have always regretted this. Mathematics is the language of understanding, nothing else comes close. The people behind Coursera, khanacademy, etc are simply wonderful human beings. Thank you.

Just signed up and I can't wait to take this course. We only ever learned SPSS when I was going to school but many of my colleagues use R, so it will be nice to get a (free) introduction to it!

I am so going to take this course.

I'm studying journalism, and I think that understanding statistics is a basic resource for doing investigations. It is shame that, in most journalism schools, statistics are not taken seriously.

Statistics needs to be a required prerequisite for ALL graduate students in ALL scientific disciplines. It seems strange to me that something so fundamental to the scientific enterprise is so often looked over.

Unfortunately the course isnt really available, it sorta is, but for some reason princeton doesnt allow access if the course is finished, its a bit odd, and I dont know just plain weird seeing as it wont hurt for someone learning the material especially if their real goal is to teach and educate, but they are probably one of two colleges with coursera that dont even give out certificates, even though these 'certificates' arent really worth much, I guess theyre trying to stay elite or something ?

you can't just delete all the videos on coursera once the course is over!

it's a shame there will be no credentials for this course - unlike many others at coursera...
