I'm loving youtube with video's like this one. I didn't not know that my Logic 9 had this built in. I'm glad I watched before buying. Thank you so much!

Lovely tutorial!
Just had a chance to watch it and play it. It works!! You are right the only trick part is to determine song key note, the rest is pretty straight forward. The other AWESOME feature is pitch correction II. I managed to lower vocal (speech) track and got what I need!

Thanks Mitch!

Sounds like it was pitch shifted up and then there is a considerable amount of bandpass filter on it. I am pretty terrible at replicating sounds, but this is what I would do. There is a pitch shifter plugin and then you can use the eq to get your high and low cut. Just experiment around. Thanks for the comment and hope that helps.

Thank you for simplifying things Mitch!! Love the way you leave the "techno Jargin out and bring it down to earth for everybody!!

I'm a firm believer in a good production coming from a good recording. If the vocal track is not good, I would suggest re-recording or finding something new.

Yeah it was all previously edited. Melodyne was used for correction and then just basic EQ, Compression, then Reverb & Delay via effect bus and that's about it. Keeping it simple is the way to go!

Mitch, your tutorials are seriously helpful, thanks.

I'm seriously thinking about getting Logic Pro, You really get more bang for your buck !

You can put the pitch corrector on before recording and then record on that channel. So yes

You can't.. but you can get around it by automating the key of the pitch corrector. I would look into Melodyne. I use it all the time and absolutely love it

Can you make a full tutorial of how to get all the effects you have on it?It sounds really really good.

Precisely correct, Mitch. I wonder if I can play the keyboard and have “knobbing” done either at the same time in logic while playing or afterwards.

The vocals sound like they were mixed extremely professionally... Out of curiosity what inserts and other things of the sort are you using? :)

I understand your vocal track already had some effects on it, but if you're starting from scratch would you recommend using pitch corrector first and then adding the other plug ins?

The plugin I use here in this tutorial is bundled with Logic so yes, it comes with it

@mpigsley77 Awesome. I'll play around with them and see what works best. This was one of the most annoying things about Garageband. One was only able to set the key on the Master Track and all pitch correction defaulted to it. I'd have to like...do another project with a different key, do pitch correction then paste back into the main project. Pain. Eventually I found it easier to learn to better carry a tune. :) Thanks again for the tuts. You rock.

No, but you can copy the track and then copy the contents down to the second one.

So why did you apply the pitch correction *after* reverb? I guess it will alter the pitch of the reverberation too no? I'm not convinced you'd want that but maybe you can get more into it. Great tuts! Thanks
