How to Move a Lost Off Screen Window Back to Desktop In Windows 11

If you’ve ever had a window somehow get moved off your screen, you know it can be frustrating not being able to drag it back. We’ve got a couple of ways you can move these rogue windows back to your desktop, though.

In theory, you should never lose an open window off the edge of your screen. It should go so far and then offer to go full screen. It should not disappear altogether. This is Windows though and strange things can happen. This tutorial will walk you through recovering an off-screen page in Windows 11 should it happen to you.

Issues addressed in this tutorial:
how to move last screen on computer
how to move last screen on laptop

While using Microsoft Windows, I had a window that had somehow fallen completely off of my screen. Right-clicking the window in the Taskbar and selecting Maximize brought it back, but there was no way I could get the window restored to where I could move it around my screen with my mouse.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 11 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung, and Huawei.

I found another way to move the window.
Point to the item on the Task Bar
Right-click the small thumbnail window that pops up. Choose Move.
Now you can use your arrow keys on your keyboard to move the off-screen window.

None of these options work. W11 is pretty tricky. it has difference configurations for everyone, apparently.

This does not fix the issue. The app still appears offscreen.

you can just maximize the app by clicking right on the app in task manager which will show the app in full screen and then you can simply resize it.
