AI has gotten me so paranoid. There is this strange sculpture my mom saw on facebook and I said it's probably not real... turns out it's less than a mile from my path to school, I just never looked.

My grandmother showed me a picture of Facebook the other day, and it was of this OBVIOUSLY ai generated like five story chocolate cake all decked out with chocolate sauce, with the unreal ai background, and she goes "doesn't this look good?" And I go "haha, yeah, that's ai generated tho" and she goes "WHAT, how do you know?" Like grandma, if you get fooled by this, I'm concerned

I think we have _already_ gotten to the point where soo many AI images are being generated that AI is now using a majority of AI images to train its model, so we're getting nightmare fuel like this stuff. What a time to be alive.

My theory is that the reason all those USA military AI slop "photos" are on highways is because USA is on such a level of car dependency hellscape that the AI interprets "America" in a prompt as a highway

Regarding the AI posting, most of these pages I believe are bot run. Bots generate the images, bots post them, bots comment on them too (yes, most of their audience are bots too. This still counts as interaction and therefore generated revenue). I don't even want to imagine how many of these bot pages exist and how much they post a day. It's probably a terrifying amount.

I'm in an art school, and something I noticed is how we are all REALLY good at recognizing even the best AI pictures, even if the number of fingers is right. My best theory is that drawing and looking at models hours on end has just made us look at everything in a specific way, due to which I personally recognize AI by the lighting rather than the fingers or the anatomy. We have a strangely specific perk unlocked.😂

The worst thing is this wouldn’t even work because people have tried to preserve things like fruit in epoxy. Because it makes sense that if you can vacuum the air out before it sets, it should not able to rot.

Unfortunately in practice that cannot be done, there will always be some air for certain bacteria to form, and others can operate the same or better in vacuum. The process will slow down but after like **maybe** a year, you’re just gonna have a table holding a rotting corpse.

“As long as the table will hold them” is not very long, as it turns out.

You know...back in the late 90's and early oughts we legit had to sit and scrutinize an image to see if a picture was photo shopped. Now a computer algorithm splices limbs, plays genetic god with produce, and creates cyborg soldiers that love to eat cake on crowded highways and everyone is like..."OMG did you see the four armed, hydraulic shock leg, potato Jesus...we are so lucky to live in such a miraculous world!"
I hope there is intelligent life out there, because if we are alone, then there is no intelligent life in the universe!

Another way to realize the wood one is fake is that the eyes on the carving are pure milky white with blue irises like that’s just a whole ass eye. Whenever AI generates an image of somebody making a depiction of something out of something else, like wood or plastic bottles, it doesn’t seem to comprehend the difference between what the material is pretending to be and what the material actually is
