While attaching bias tape on cotton top like above, should I stretch or pull the bias tape a little bit or leave it normal tension, what would be better, please?

Thank you this looks great and much easier than the way I have been trying and therefore avoiding making anything with bias. Would this work with French seams and curved hems?
