Tombstone Arizona: What to Expect?

Tombstone, Arizona is a small town in South Eastern Arizona that is known for its Wild West history and attractions. Founded in 1879, Tombstone quickly became a booming mining town and was home to a number of notorious figures such as Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and the Clanton Gang. Much of the town burnt down in two different fires in the late 1800s, but they area has been brought back to the Old West charm.

Tombstone is a popular tourist destination and visitors can expect to see a variety of historical sites, museums, and attractions that pay homage to the town's Wild West past. Some of the must-see attractions in Tombstone include the OK Corral, the Bird Cage Theatre, and Boot Hill Cemetery. If you only have the time for one, I highly recommend the Bird Cage Theater, as that is one of the only buildings that survived the devastating fires and has an amazing amount of historical memorabilia.

In addition to these historical sites, Tombstone also hosts a number of annual events and festivals that celebrate the town's history and culture. These events include Helldorado Days, Tombstone Vigilante Days, and Wyatt Earp Days.

I live on the edge of London, UK, we are surrounded by history all over going back many centuries. But….there is just something about the history of the wild west that is so interesting. I will be over to see it soon. Thank you for your video.

Thank you for next great trip. Early TV westerns sought to teach the good values of honesty and integrity, of hard work, of racial tolerance, of determination to succeed, and of justice for all. At the show's end, moral lessons had been taught and learned.🌅

Those dang chickens that throw explosives are one of the factors that prevent me from going there

Good to see you included the Boothill Cemetary. I've been to Tombstone 5 times so far since I'm stationed nearby. The cemetary is where you'll see the resting places of those depicted in the movie Tombstone. I have seen every live show and toured everything. It's all worth the money for the shows considering it's live entertainment. Bring extra if you'd like to tip the actors. The shows are fun and educational. The Bird Cage cost me $20 if I remember correctly, but I didn't want to go home and regret not seeing it over $20. Lots of history in there like you stated. The "stagecoach" is I believe the actual one that carried them after the OK Corral shootout. Most of the shops are tourist shops with memento's and such. The actors and a lot of employees there are very educated on the town's history so if you have questions feel free to ask them. They'll be more than happy to help. It might be helpful for people to stay near Sierra Vista if they like fast food, restaurants, etc. It's about a 25 minute drive to Tombstone from there. I love it there and I'm sure I have a few more trips in me before I leave Arizona. Oh, and that bathroom is the worst. Where the park is by the OK Corral, there's another one. It's more modern and a little nicer set up.

Thank you, that was really helpful. I'm hoping to visit Tombstone in the coming years. It will be a bit of a journey from Yorkshire in England, but worth it I hope.

The bathrooms on the other end weren't much better either last time we were there. 😂 Too bad your visit wasn't a few weeks later. The rose tree should be blooming soon. Our plant is blooming now and I think Tombstone's bloomed last year about a week or two after ours. Definitely worth seeing (and smelling!).
