I went there in the early 1970s. Enjoyed seeing it again without the incessant heat.

The Dec. 14, 1879, edition of the Arizona Daily Star stated: “Last Tuesday a shooting took place at Safford in which Louis Hancock was shot by Johnny Ringo. It appears Ringo wanted Hancock to take a drink of whiskey, and refused, saying he would prefer beer. Ringo then struck him over the head with his pistol and fired, the ball taking effect in the lower end of the ear and passing through the fleshy part of his neck. Half an inch more in the neck would have killed Hancock. Ringo is under arrest.”

I’m heading to Tombstone in a couple weeks for the first time. It will be a quick trip but I can’t wait. I’ve learned a lot from your videos so I’m ready!

I was there back in 2005 as part of the Minuteman Project. Spent the entire month there and didn't want to return home. It's crazy, but the first time t walked down main street from the area of the school towards Big Nose Kate's, I felt like I'd been there before...was kinda creepy.

Terry would make a huge deal of that if his ancestor Ike was interred here at Boot Hill. I’m sure the ol Calnton sympathizer Biehn would be on site as well. I’d be there w the Earp faction haha

Yes, I had heard that it was a fake cemetery when a friend of mine was doing a genealogy research and couldn’t find his ancestor at Boothill. He turned out to be buried in one of the other cemeteries around. (I forgot which).

Thanks for the tour. Although many of the residents there are infamous, can the cemetery itself be infamous? If a person in Tombstone today dies with their boots on, will they get buried there?

Howdy I've just stumbled upon your mine tour in the old 1944 jeep. I'm leaving comments here as I can't find the other right off
... Anyway great job in the video. You mentioned about the other cemetary a newer one that is about 100 years old. I'd love to know where is it? Can you plan on a video soon of it??

Tombstones Boot Hill was created during the silver rush during the 1870-80's. More people arrived in Tombstone en route to Colorado as a cleaner air environment Doctors thought would be therapeutic. It is interesting to note that some people come across these high Desert graves with the intent of while nobody's looking to dig up caskets and steal whatever they could find. It's not a good idea because depending on a number of factors the corpse could still harbour tuberculosis.

I lived in Tucson for a little over a decade in the late 80s and early 90s and became obsessed with southern Arizona history. I remember reading in a book somewhere that the boot Hill original area was on the other side of the road, and they moved all the markers across the road, so it would be easier for tourists. Not sure if that’s true or not? I asked at the museum in tombstone one time about it and he said that didn’t sound right??

I think my favorite is: "Here Lies Les Moore
Took four slugs from a .44
No Les, No Moore".

Don't think my spelling is accurate but the limerick is good.

The berry cheese cake and the ice cream one. Lol, this was meant for another video. How weird! It was Provost Park pass in Disney Tokyo sea trying every popcorn flavor. I wanted to try these. 😝🤟 It must have carried over.

An interesting and well done video.
I know a family that lives near Boothill that found a burial in their backyard. Law enforcement determined it was from those days. The priest gave a blessing and he was covered back up. His grave is still there last I heard. Up at the isolated Graham Cemetery North of Safford where my mother is buried some Hispanic folks (illegals?) surreptitiously buried their dead just outside the cemetery's boundary line in the 1970's and 80's. Saved funeral costs and legalities. The solution? The county just extended the chain link fencing around those graves that were closer to the edge of the bluff. RIP
