Definitely a good idea and as you said it's not suiting a cover which is definitely right, I would direct you to James gurney bcs his kinda the guy for these type of covers try to be inspired by him. And one last thing the background was so diffrent from the actual drawing (less detailed) but other then that, the creature itself was so original.

Beautiful illustration and great to see it done in Autodesk, while this program doesn't have some of the more advanced features that Photoshop has, it's so intuitive and fast that it's really underrated in the digital art community. Thanks for the video Imaginism Studios inc

So what about sizing the image to the art? ppi density and whatnot? How does it translate from say a trade cover size (5.5" x 8.5") how would I size it appropriately so when it prints its good quality?
