I think the worst part is that the Hand Demon killed Sabito quickly because he knew he was a threat, whereas he was sure to kill Makomo brutally to take advantage of the emotional turmoil she experienced after he told her what happened to her colleagues and how he tried to make Urokodaki responsible.

In other words, the Hand Demon killed both of them in a cheap way.
