I live in South Fort Myers. It’s absolutely devastating!!! The pictures do it no justice. My area is destroyed. Despite how bad it is here…my heart and prayers go out to the people on Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach, Pine Island, and Matlacha. Please say prayers for them as many are still unaccounted for. This hurricane wiped out these areas. Everyone in SWFL had substantial loss. Material things can be replaced…lives can’t. Thank you to all the first responders coming in from all states and helping do rescues. Thank you to all the power companies from all over coming in to help rebuild our area. Thank you God for life, not all were as fortunate. Please pray for us here as we try to pick up the pieces of what we have left and for those who lost the most important thing…their loved ones.

Wow. This is heartbreaking. Maybe now people will wake up and realize that these EXTREME weather events are getting worse, and will continue to get worse because of global warming. Rise in ocean temperatures means stronger and more devastating storms. Yes, you can rebuild, but it will continue to be wiped away and destroyed as hurricanes become more common and more powerful as time passes. This is our future. It seems like every year a part of Florida gets hit by a hurricane. Every year they play sad music and every year we’re supposed to act surprised. I think by now we realize that Florida is a wild place to live yet every year people move there.

Any body things this is funny, it’s really not my grandma lives in Bonita Springs and lives in a two-story house. The first story was completely underwater. They left one vehicle in their driveway and it was completely underwater. You could not see it their pool completely underwater. today we went over there and it was really bad, we cleaned out a bunch of trash and got a lot of stuff out but we had only about three items that we could save everything else was damaged and we threw away. There was nothing we could do and as we were sitting there, we were saying that how lucky we were because there are other people out there who really suffered this and don’t even have a home right now. We are thinking of you and praying of you. ❤
