One of my concerns over privacy is that when any entity has access to your info and it is known by everyone that they have access then they can easily lie or make up things about you and be believed because they have access. The FBI, IRS and CIA are good examples.

Good analysis. Just to add there are also profound spiritual and even practical legal reasons why privacy is essential. It is true that God is omniscient but God is good. Only love can properly integrate the wholly private to truth. That’s life.

Anyone who equates God's omniscience with mass surveillance understands neither except at perhaps the surface level.
The only way to be internally consistent is to make the claim to do away with your conscience because your conscience is always watching what you do, and your conscience is not you in any meaningful way

Greenwald, has been one of the most unscrupulous and unethical people in my view based on what he has said and published in the past. I loath this guy. He has a very unethical history of attacking Sam Harris and others. I mean, look at this face, would you say you could trust this face?? Take a look!!
But....on this talk....I have to give it to him. He is superb.
