Well, yeah - acrylic cutting board. It is also called "flexiglass", i.e. it is plastic by composition, but it is closer to glass in physical properties.

Veggies on my end grain butcher block, meat on the plastic. I also keep a set of decent Henkel’s on the counter for people that think they know how to use a knife. I do have to warn everyone that they are sharp enough to leave a fingertip on the cutting board. And you won’t feel it until after the blood starts pooling.

Chop board getting seasoned is annoying, but it's nothing a little baking soda and vinegar couldn't fix.

my mother used to mix meat (especially chicken) near cooking utensils and lick them raw to 'taste' it.

not until HS it's kinda clicked why me and my sister always got diarrhea, and vomit almost daily, on the other hand i kinda got immunity from it lol.

As a meat eater, i rarely ever cook meat because of how annoying they are to deal with

i mean you have to chop your thing on a bord that dont have chicken on it but you can use the same bord if you prepare the chicken last

As someone who has been vegetarian my entire life, she is right. I've never in my life worried about cross-contamination of food. You can use whichever utensils you want, no problem. I like garlic so i don't even care about the garlic smell. I just use a single chopping board.
Another thing that i never thought was a problem was the idea that food can be infected and may contain parasites. You don't need to think about these things with fruits and vegetables.

The main reason to use a plastic board is if you're using an expensive knife.

Just put down some parchment paper. Simple solution.

If it is in a sealed vacuum package - then you don't wash it. Otherwise yes.
And no, a polystyrole container with plastic film wrapped over it by hand - is not a sealed container. It should be sealed at the production line, and be fully air-tight.

So generally speaking - better to wash it anyways, just to be sure.

It literally makes no sense for the Keeper of Nature to be a vegan-- see many vegan cats lately? lol
