Excellent insulation. Sound proof, fire proof AND doesn’t retain moisture. Outstanding material as far as I know.

Rockwool is the BEST. Truly my favorite insulation for most purposes.

Important note: if you live in a cold area the insulation needs to go BEHIND the pipes to keep them warm.

You ALWAYS insulate walls! Inner walls included!


And a proper inner wall is a 2x4" with 10mm Woodboard, and 2x 10-15mm Gypsym boards!

1: the insulation helps Noice and heating in the house.
2: the Woodboard allows you to hang anything on any wall, like a wall mounted TV for example.
3: the 2x Gypsum Boards is for fire Safty and helps with sound insulation! (if you want extra good sound insulation m, chose 2 different thicknesses of Gypsumboards, like 1x 12mm and one 15mm Fireboard(extra fire resistant board))

I drywalled 30+ years. As soon as I'd walk into a job I knew it was Rockwool. I'd get a tickling cough in my lungs almost immediately. Ease up after few hours

We've used this insulation, it costs a little more but it's very well worth it. It's also moisture, sound and fire resistant.

I pulled my upstairs sub floor to level it and used this stuff it works great. Not only does it reduce noise its also a fire retardant.

Rockwool is great, even better is if you run sound channels as well. Creates a gap between the studs and sheetrock, gets a much better result for sound proofing your walls. Especially shared common walls like in townhomes, duplexes, or theater rooms.
