I saw such an object. I lived in Russia at the time, it was somewhere in 1997, in the Krasnodar region.

I was a child then, so I immediately guessed to call about 15 more people. Ironically, they were all children too, but I am sure that they all remember it very well to this day.

It was a warm summer evening, still very light, but the sun had already set. The object was flying north of us, from left to right, in the southeast direction.

It is difficult to determine the altitude, but it was inside the atmosphere. The angular dimensions from left to right were approximately equal to the moon, and several times smaller vertically.

The shape is aerodynamic, without sharp corners, like a frisbee thickening from the edges to the center.

Or in other words, if this object cast a shadow on the wall and on the floor, then the shadow on the wall would most likely be a regular ellipse, and the shadow on the floor would most likely be a circle. I don't remember the color of the object, but it was definitely not colored, some shade between white and black.

On the thickest part in the center of the object there was a light source, which either rotated around this object, making, as far as I remember, one revolution around the conditional vertical axis in one or several seconds, or the entire object rotated, and the light source was fixed.

It took the object no more than 1-2 minutes to cross the entire sky from left to right.

However, I do not know whether this object was of alien origin, it could have been human military equipment.
