Arcade1UP Mod - Turn Everything, Yes Everything OFF with Stock Power Switch

preview_player
Показать описание
Until now, the stock power switch only turned the Pi off and left the marquee, LEDs, coin door light, Amp, speaker and everything else on. This may be a solution to solve this issue. TThis will work with all mods: Arcade1up, Toyshock, and Visual Pinball tables.

Thanks for this awesome video! I've been sitting on a pair of the control relays too; this finally got me to install one of them, and it works really well! The only issue I had was that my PC wanted to keep power to USB all the time. So I had to hunt through the BIOS and enable Deep Sleep and turn off all the device Wake features. Now it's perfect. Thanks again!

There’s a much simpler way to have the power switch turn on/off all components by using DC splitters and adapters to tap into the 12v power current going to the LDVS. As long as you are coming out of the control deck in the chain. Gen1 cabs that do not have a 2.1mm DC power coupler coming out of the encoder can easily buy a cable with a JST connector and make a ground loop on the power input on the encoder board then tap off the DC power coupler using multiple Y-splitters. Use male/female adapters and barrel plugs as needed for each component.

That's a pretty damn genius idea. Even with the double flick of the off switch, that's still extremely useful. Thank you!

Wow! Thanks for this. The off/on/off is actually better. I let my 2 year old slap buttons and play games. Sometimes he turns off the machine. I see this as a good shut off safety

Easier way plug this in your wall outlet and the other to your powerstrip. You can turn off your entire system/machine with just a click of a button. I use it on my modded arcade1up machine. It comes with a wireless remote to power down everything or turn on everything.
This is the item name below i got mine from Amazon.

Right on, Detroit Love. This video and your product recommendation has solved a conundrum for me. I built my cabinet with my pops and I found myself staring at the power connections wondering how I would powerdown the monitor and the marquee. Solved it! Thanks, man.

I just plugged in my Arcade1Up with the power off and the plug sparked! How the hell much power is this thing consuming when it's turned off. Crazy! It's completely stock too.

Daisy chaining Power strips is not a good idea. I know it seems like the thing to do, but any electrician will tell you it's asking for trouble.

Love your videos bro! I got the modded volume with ryans C code and also did the python script for the power button. I do have a fan installed in my MK2 cab and it doesn't turn off. This solution should work for powering everything off! Another option I found is a transistor with another python script to use gpio 21 to do a thermal fan detection but It seems a bit much for me to do that just for a fan lol.

I’ve heard you need to shut down your Pi (not just turning the power off to it) properly or it gets corrupted. True? If so, how do I make sure my Pi shuts down properly? Thanks

I’d love to see an update to the issues if you figured something out.

Any updates on get the Pi to turn off also? Did you try to plug the Cabinets ON/OFF switch to the green plug on the relay power stripe?

Can you connect this to the pi via gpio instead of USB? If so which pins would you use

I couldn’t follow the directions of what goes into what the order was confusing

What stops you from just wiring the switch directly to the control relay? You should be able to make/break without the use of the USB right?
