Dude you are a champion just for going on the mat with one of those guys from that part of the world. He might have grown up in one of those programs where you only get fed if you train hard. 😂

Im a bjj black belt that wrestled in hs and did judo as a child, i would feel extremely vulnerable putting my arm on that side of his head, i know there are takedowns from there but the other dude has to many options for me to be comfortable there

I'm thinking about this. Can it be called a judo technique? Balance and leverage defined judo . Still thinking about this can it be called a front uki goshi

It’s like a te guruma to counter the “Georgian” grip. What’s an actual name for this?

As a super heavy, that was my fav throw with the small super heavy’s. I competed at 245 but looked 210. I had to go against 350 to 400 pounders. Wasn’t able to drop below 235. Bone structure and large coconuts. If I got 250 or smaller x this worked well. I’m literally crippled at 48 with both femoral heads necrotising and major edema from the hips. Developed sores that ended up MrSA. Large complicated wounds formed delaying the hip replacements. The gentle way… nope. Taking 6 foot drops, 100s of times in a long session destroyed me. Love it though, would have pushed harder and I don’t regret.

If you would have let go with your right hand it looks like he wouldn't have had the leverage

Horrible judo but dangerous, I remember when the ussr split, we were then faced with so many countries formerly part off Russia producing strong judoka, the style off judo comes from sambo, not pretty but effective

He didn't fully flip you over so I don't recognize it as a defeat

How feasible is it for a 45-year-old man who is in good shape to start judo without destroying his body?

Once you done the over the top grip you walked right into his trap…..personally I don’t like the over the top grip….it’s power judo and not pretty
