Later this year F1 will be holding a vote to ban tyre blankets. It's a move that hasn't gone down well with many drivers, with Lewis Hamilton calling it "dangerous" and a "pointless exercise".

How much energy is used to power the entire event. But they are worried about how much energy the tyre blankets use.

I wonder how many crashes due to low traction (and the energy/footprint necessary to rebuild) would offset the energy saved from removing tire warming blankets.
It’s not a direct cause, and cars aren’t gonna magically start crashing, but it’s a factor.
I’m all for greener solutions, but getting rid of tire warming blankets sounds a bit ridiculous.
