The Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Migration process can be a bit intimidating if you're not familiar with what's going on at Google Analytics as of late.

As the nature of the internet and data tracking continuously change, the Google Analytics team is working to keep their data tracking relevant in this fast paced world.

This leads Google to roll out a new version of Google Analytics every so often in order to keep up with the times (so to speak). With this latest update to Google Analytics 4 (GA4) there are a lot of people scratching their heads wondering what in the world is going on.

So, I wanted to create this video to walk you through what I'm seeing as the quickest and easier way to ensure that you have Google Analytics 4 set up and collecting data before Universal Analytics (GA3) stops tracking data.

It is not a migration from GA3 to GA4... You should show how to transfer GA3 data to GA4 that would be a migration, now you just creating new GA4 property..

Is it possible to get all previous Universal Analytics data on GA4? If yes, please guide me through the process.

Hello,

And what to do with old UA3 pixel code? Keep it together with GA4 pixel code?

By following your guide, what happens to the old analytics data? Does it get migrated or not?

Unless you've opted out, we've already configured or soon will configure a Google Analytics 4 property for you with some basic features. My question is this, I have a website and it shows a UA property and 2 GA4 ones, Why are there 2 GA4 properties now and do i keep both of them or does one have to be deleted? Do i have to configure both GA4 properties for each of my websites exactly the same? Just confused to why i have 2 GA4 properties for each of my websites?

I think Google may have migrated for me based on what you said in your video, still I am worried. Worrying is what I do best. This website is not "my website." It is series of pages hosted on a university website. I am in the process of asking, but it is unclear who's responsibility it is to migrate. At this point, since it is after July 1, has my property been migrated? Do I need to take further action? Have no idea. Thanks in advance for responding to this comment.

It's so confusing. You mention uploading the code into the header from Google Analytics. Google has videos about adding the code into the header and body from Google tags. Which one is it?

Hey Travis, do you consult on GA4 migration? Thanks.

Hey. We have setup a consulting firm to help US startups transition to GA4. If you are looking for business, we should collaborate. Thoughts?
