I've been watching your videos and you helped me a lot. I've made up my mind and bought the CGA to VGA board and the SLG-3000.

@voltz15 YUV has a problem with lack of voltage so the SLG can not be powered effectively. An external power source to the SLG could remedy that perhaps.

@dankss It's not all bad news as you can use component input on both of these pieces of hardware. You can still get your retro consoles to output to RGB SCART though to make use of these types of hardware (if required).

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I was on my way out. I am not sure exactly, I think it would largely depend on price versus quality. I guess as a ball park figure around £150-£200 (in the case of something really good for the price I may be able to stretch my budget).

I personally would love to have a collection of classic kit, Atari, Amiga, Nintendo, Sega etc but just don't have the space or money. Most of these can be emulated fairly well but the more recent consoles aren't quite there yet.

This can turn into a royal world of pain but with that kind of cash available you really do have a plethora of options. Put "deinterlacing video games" into google and look at the retrogaming link that comes up (first in my search return). This has all the details of what is available second-hand and brand new and the pro's and con's.

Can you recommend a converter/upscaler for use with ps2 and xbox? I've bought 3 so far and all have had problems (one poor quality, another only displayed 16:9 and the other got so close to being ideal but had no black level adjustment and the darks were too dark). Obviously I'd love something like the Framemeister but for the sake of two consoles (am content with emulators for 8bit/16bit) it is too expensive for me to justify. My monitor (my only display) accepts vga or hdmi. Can you help?
