I told my friend. She said, "Well you make eye contact with me." ( I don't.) And I was dismissed.

Or, I knew someone with autism and they were nothing like that…best one was my mother when I was diagnosed as an adult, well, there’s never been anything like that in OUR family. She’s not spoken to me for 13 years now.

Or how oh but they're super high functioning clearly.... i get that one about my son all the time and it drives me you have noooo idea his daily struggles.... yes he talks but he also struggles to regulate his emotions, he can't eat more than 10-15 foods because of sensory issues, he has to drink 3 meal replacement shakes a day to make sure he doesn't lose too much weight.... but yeah he functions just fine 🙄
