How to Redeem an Xbox Gift Card Code on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, or on Website (Microsoft Store)

If you have been given an Xbox gift card, this video will show you how the redemption process works so that you can add the funds to your balance. You can then use that money to buy digital games and other things on an Xbox console or on Sony's website. The video shows how to navigate to the right spot from the Xbox dashboard, and how to carefully type the code in and get it accepted. Then I show how to doublecheck that the funds are there.

Redeeming is not the issue I'm having, it is redeeming then actually using it. So I redeemed my gift card on the website using my phone. Now I'm trying to purchase the series x using gift cards but it's not giving me the option to use the gift card during checkout. Does it take a couple hours for the redeemed gift card to show up in checkout?
