Australian Ravens gathering

Australian Ravens have white eyes and they are mostly sedentary and territorial birds. If there is sufficient food for them a single breeding pair and their brood often occupy a certain territory year round. They defend their territory by chasing and sometimes striking the backs of birds of pray, foxes or even people. Throughout the year we only see our two local ravens on Ellenbrae. But once every year, during spring there is a gathering, and suddenly for about a week we have a large flock making a big noise for most of the day.

I love how different they sound to our ravens, but I wouldn’t want to listen to that all day. They sound like they’re groaning in pain, like ‘ow’ ‘ow’ Much like me when I’m getting out of bed in the morning 🤣

Wow, the Aussie Ravens are such a delight! The authentic sounds of Australia! They sound like they are mocking grumpy people and hearing them always brings a smile to my face! Beautiful birds beautifully captured!

0:57 probably the first "normal" corvid sound I've ever heard from the AUS Raven. Almost sounded like a fish crow.
